New Posts --And one cute story

OK.....so I have updated our month of October. Quite a fun time in our house. We also concluded our soccer season. Can you believe that I don't have pictures? So check out the following 4 posts.  Our next posts will include our trip to Disney World, which we leave for on Nov. 29th!!

CUTE STORY:

Ryan came home about a month ago and said, "I have an announcement to make. And you can't laugh because it is serious."

I asked, "Well, what is it?"

"I have a girlfriend, " he replied.

"Oh, really. And what does she say about this?" I ask.

"Oh, she doesn't know." he said. "I've never talked to her."

After chuckling on the inside, I then proceeded to explain how important it usually is to let the other one know about things like this. We also discussed the importance of being friends and guarding our hearts. So, a few days passed by and he says, "I just can't go up and talk to her Mom. I am too nervous."

So I hadn't heard anything until he came home yesterday. "Mom, I have to wear a disguise to school tomorrow. I just have to."

I casually ask, "Why?" thinking it had to be for school.

"My friend Dane went to Eva and told her that the cute blond boy liked her. And then she started chasing me. I have to wear my other jacket so she won't know who I am."

I just laughed so hard. And then when I picked him up at school today, he proceeds to tell me that he made halfway through recess before she found him. Then he spent the rest of the time running, as she chased him. Oh my gosh! This is just too good. To be 6 again and have that free life......

Who wouldn't want to chase this cute cowboy????

Reese Enjoys Another Month --Turns 5 Months!

WOW! Another month has gone by and we are just plugging along. Reese is doing great, babbling and squealing all of the time, rolling over, eating well, and just enjoying life. So far we have been VERY BLESSED that she has not been sick at all---not even a cold! That was quite a miracle, considering that Reagan, Ryan, and Riley were sick for about a week with fevers, headaches, colds, and coughs AND Dad had the flu for a week too! That was the sickest I have ever seen him on the 15 years I have known him. Of course, besides prayer, I am sure keeping all of them away from her -- no touching, no holding, nothing--probably helped. I thank Jesus for that protection! As long as I can keep them all healthy until our trip to Disney World in 16 days! That is our prayer now! Anyways, we had a great October. My mom was also able to fly in and visit for a while. That was nice. We are about to start rice cereal with Reese--think she is needing just a little more food now. We'll start this weekend, so we can get good video of it. She has been staring at us eat at dinner for the last week or so. Tonight when I put my spoon up to her mouth, she opened it and was ready for some refried beans! Ummm! Our only two frustrations with her----(1) She will roll over onto her tummy, play a while, get frustrated and then scream into the floor---Why doesn't she just roll back over like she knows how?? (2) She LOVES to sleep all swaddled up. That is great, except for when she breaks free at 4:00am and starts talking. Dad gets up, reswaddles her, and then sleeps until 8:00am. But we love her....gosh, I just didn't know I could love something that much! The LORD truly blesses us when He loans us these lives, these souls to care for, and nurture, and grow. What an amazing gift!
This is her first time in the Exersaucer and she loves it!

Our good friend Jill got to come meet her finally! Please move back!!
Testing out the highchair borrowed from our dear neighbors---Think she might need something to sit on?

Sleeping like a baby---loves her swaddle blanket!

Reese's Photoshoot

As with the other three children, I am starting the process of have Reese's baby panel made--3-6-9-12 months pictures. I was a little late getting the process started--oh and the fact that the first sitting with a photographer went very badly, but thankfully, no money lost---so Reese actually turned 4 months for this "3 month" sitting. But, hey, wasn't she three weeks early anyways? So maybe it all worked out! Anyways, this photographer was great and the best part--she came right to my house! As she was taking pictures, she was a little unhappy with the pictures she was getting. Angela said that Reese just looked "too concerned" in all of the photos. She felt better once I explained that Reese came out of the womb that way and that is how we are use to seeing her! And I loved them---serious look and all! I look forward to seeing the 6 month ones in December!

C2O--Christ to Others Carnival at Heritage Christian

Heritage Christian School's PTF puts on a C2O Carnival every other year as an outreach to the community. It included carnival games, bounce houses, climbing walls, bungee jumping on a trampoline, lots of yummy food, and then it concluded with a concert by Lincoln Brewster. Paul was home sick with that "PIG" flu, so I ventured out with the kids and Reagan's good friend, Amy. It was a little cold at first, but we all braved the weather and had a wonderful time. I would have thoroughly enjoyed it more with my sweetie with me, but the kids LOVED it. I was just proud of myself taking those kids out all by myself. Maybe it does get easier with the more kids one has?? (NOT) We made it through half of the concert. While I enjoyed the music and good fellowship with friends, the kids just loved running around in the dark, throwing their glow sticks. Oh....and did I mention the candy?? Who needs Halloween after bringing home all that candy from the carnival games.........My three precious older ones....
The pretty girls and their face paintings.....
And Riley throws the baseball........STRIKE!

Reagan tried so hard to do a flip, but she was just a little too timid to make her body go all the way over
This brought tears to my eyes as I watched my little girl try and try to flip. All the other adults watching just kept laughing and saying how cute it was!
And Ryan just goes up and flips!

Riley Heads to Tuttle's Pumkin Patch

Riley and her preschool class took a field trip on a cold, autumn day to Tuttle's Apple Orchard. I did not dress Riley well enough. Thought I was, but realized it was much colder with the blowing wind once we got out there. Thankfully, I had Reese all bundled up and wore her in the Snuggli Front Carrier. She helped keep me warm. Sorry I don't have a picture of that, b/c she sure was cute. We got to go on a hayride, pick pumpkins and apples, and play in their little corn/haystack maze. Riley had a fun time.....
