Heisman Winner Makes Forward Progress on Life

According to his mom, football sensation Tim Tebow came very close to missing his run at the Heisman Trophy. Pam Tebow says it wasn't because of his performance, but because her doctors had advised the couple to abort him. Back in the '80s, when she and her husband Bob were in the mission field, Pam was diagnosed with a medical condition that could only be treated with drugs that risked harming her unborn child. To avoid "irreparable damage" to her baby, doctors suggested that she abort the future Heisman winner. She refused. Today, Pam, Bob, and the entire University of Florida football team are glad she didn't. Despite the doctor's prediction, Tim was born completely healthy--and remains so. In his acceptance speech for the Heisman, Tim said, "I just (want) to first start off by thanking my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave me the ability to play football, gave me a great family and support group..."

Sadly, not every unborn child is as fortunate as Tim. For every baby like him, whose parents embrace the gift of life, there are countless others whose lives are ended before they begin, all in the name of "choice." Of the 49 million who never lived to realize their potential, imagine the number of future leaders, inventors, doctors--and, yes, even Heisman trophy winners--among them. We are grateful to the Tebow family for sharing their testimony and pray that it helps persuade other women of the inherent value of their unborn children and the great promise that lies within.

Perspective Of A 4 Year Old Boy

A while back, I picked Ryan up from preschool. As we were driving home, the following conversation took place.....

Ryan: "Mom, do you know why I eat my boogers?"

Mom, trying to contain herself from the GROSS factor, calmly replies, "No, Ryan, I can't possibly understand why."

Ryan, very matter of factly states, "Well, because I don't want them on my fingers. That is gross."

What amazed me about this story and so many other things that occur with my one and only son, stuck between two girls, is how things like that make total sense to him. In his mind, many things happen and occur that are just out of this world for me!

Just so you out there won't worry, I quickly explained to him and how that is STILL NO REASON to eat them. I "helped" him understand the use of Kleenex/toilet paper uses.

Happy 2nd Birthday Riley!!

We celebrated Riley's 2nd birthday yesterday with family. She was very excited. Anytime you asked her, "Riley is it your birthday?", she would just point to her cake. She had a Dora the Explorer party and she celebrated with Grammie, GrandPa Greg, Mama Eva, Mommo & Poppo, Uncle Don and Aunt Nancy, and cousin Trenton(All of Paul's family....parents, aunt/uncle and grandparents). It was a very nice day.

"It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas..."

Yes, we are done with all the decorations, and it has been fun. We totaled up our lights....almost 8000!! We love looking at them and we have many people stop by to look! The kids also had a wonderful time putting up the Christmas tree and hanging all the decorations. Yes, I did have to go back and fix most of them! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that in the hustle and bustle of all the shopping, please don't don't lose sight of the TRUE meaning of Christmas.......Jesus Christ.




Yes...Ryan as a pirate again! I am actually getting tired of seeing him in this outfit. It may have to go the the "wash" for a while!

Random Happenings at The Cornwells

OK...so we have been busy......doing what, I am not sure. But it seems like we have been very busy. I guess we are just trying to "stay ahead of the game" as they say. For the last 3 weekends, we have been working hard at putting up our Christmas lights. For those that have seen our "work", you know it takes alot of time. Paul basically has almost 5000 lights outside. We'll include some pictures of it after the big lighting "ceremony" next week. The weather has been great as we all worked as a family to get the lights on the house and in the bushes. Paul & I were stating how we enjoy doing this with our kids and hope they enjoy this family tradition.

The kids continue to do well. We have all been struggling with coughs and colds for almost 3 weeks though. We finished up soccer season and are taking a break until after Christmas. Reagan will then start basketball on Saturdays and ballet on Wednesdays. Ryan & Riley will probably do some gymnastics. We are off to Paul's grandmother's house next week for Thanksgiving....HOPE EVERYONE HAS A BLESSED THANKSGIVING!!! We have so much to be thankful for. Then we are in the plans for Miss Riley's big 2nd birthday!!!!!

OK...trying to get three kids to sit and smile is an almost impossible task, due mostly to the little one on the end. Believe it or not, this is the ONLY picture that they were actually able to get of all three. Riley would not sit or stand for any more. I praise the Lord that we were able to get this. They look so sweet....never would have guessed what a horrible, stressful time that was!

Disney World 2007

We just returned from a week at Disney World...and it truly is a magical place. With the exceptions of a few meltdowns ( Whiny World big time!), we had a great time. Who can blame the kids though when we just "Go...Go...Go..." all the time. Most days we managed to get back to our resort and take small naps in the afternoon and then go swimming. We met so many different characters this time, and overall, Riley wasn't too scared of them. We went to the Magic Kingdom 2 1/2 days, MGM, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom....and we still didn't see everything! We stayed at Old Key West Vacation Resort and had a nice 2 bedroom, since Paul's mom, Anna, went with us. We had breakfast at Cinderella's Castle and met her and many other princesses...the highlight for Reagan. And Ryan loved meeting Lightening McQueen and Mater and we rode Pirates of the Caribbean twice for him. As for Riley, well, she might have some nightmares from all the dark rides we took her on and all the 3D shows. She did come to love Pluto and Mickey by the end of the week, giving both of them kisses when we met them. I posted lots of pictures, but have almost 250. OK...so nothing real exciting has happened around the house this month. We did have Grammer out from Texas for a visit, thus explaining the pirate costume for Ryan and pretty dress for Riley. We had a nice visit while Daddy went to China for a few days for business. We have been busy with soccer every Saturday and just getting into the swing of things with our school year. Reagan is doing really well in school, reading well, and enjoying doing science and math....guess she gets that from her Daddy! Ryan has really enjoyed school so far also. We stay busy with going to the YMCA three days a week and Bible study for Mommy on Tuesday mornings. That has been WONDERFUL for Mommy!!

We'll update more later because......WE ARE OFF TO DISNEY WORLD next week for 6 days!!!! We are all very excited. Grammie (Paul's Mom) is coming with us and the kids are very excited. This will be our first time going since we became Disney Vacation Club members and we are so excited! We will be staying in a 2 bedroom resort hotel room at Old Key West on Disney property. I'll take lots of pictures!!!

While the other two are away at school, making friends, educating their little minds, this CHILD runs "amok" around the house, threatening to destroy anything. And this was AFTER she left the kitchen floor as a new Great Lake. Apparently, she just stood at the automatic water dispenser and held the lever down. That is why she is shirtless in the picture. She had soaked her pretty little dress. And can you believe that we had already put AWAY all markers. Somehow she always find that one, lonely little marker that someone left out.
