In Honor of Reagan....

Since we had such a major milestone this past week, I decided to go back and make a montage of pictures of Reagan from birth through 6 years. (Well, we also got a new computer and so I had fun playing with Windows Movie Maker!) Paul & I remarked how we can hardly remember Reagan being that little. They do grow so fast! The quality of this view is not really a great one, but we hope you enjoy the show....

Reagan is Off To First Grade

Well, my first born headed off to first grade today. There is something that happens inside a mother when her firstborn goes off to school for the first time ALL DAY, knowing now that she will spend more time around other influences then she will with her family in any given day. I praise God that I have this opportunity to send her to Heritage Christian School. I still remember the day she was born in North Carolina, and we brought her home to our little 2 bedroom apartment, wondering if the hospital knew what they were doing letting us take home this little baby with NO EXPERIENCE! WOW! What a blessing it has been to see Reagan grow and develop into an awesome, beautiful, sweet-spirited girl. I feel like this is a major milestone for us as a family. From here on out, she will just continue to grow and change and develop, until eventually, we send her off to college. I know.....getting WAY ahead of myself. However, I have experienced alot of different feelings today. As for Reagan, well, she just looks at Mommy and wonders why I am so strange. :) She is oblivious to it all and just excited to be going, already talking about being in 2nd grade, then 3rd grade, then 4th grade, etc... Why do they want to grow up so fast???? We love her so much and are so blessed by God to be her parents. We thank Him for the opportunity to raise her and teach her, praying that she develops into a godly woman, who loves to know and serve God, her heavenly Father. As for now, well, I'll go and pick my daughter up at 3:45pm from the bus stop and just enjoy these moments of first grade while I have the chance.....

Indiana State Fair......What A Day!

On Wednesday, we took a train trip to The Indiana State Fair. The kids loved it! Well, Mommy and Daddy had a nice time too. We ate nachos, french fries, ice cream, chicken on a stick, funnel cakes, and topped the day off with MORE ice cream! Isn't that what the fair is all about??? The kids had a great time at Riley Fun Park, an interactive park that teaches about farming. Mostly though, Reagan and Ryan loved riding all the rides! We also went and checked out all the local livestock. It is a wonderful fair and we loved it. However, I told Paul that he has to go to the Texas State Fair one year. As the saying goes, "Everything's Bigger in Texas"....and when it comes to the fair, well, it is HUGE. All my Texas people know what I am saying! Just thinking about "Big Tex" makes me wish I was there....

WOW! I am one week away from my firstborn going off to 1st grade...ALL DAY! Reagan will be riding the bus and will be gone from us all day everyday! We will be lost without her, especially her brother, and constant playmate, Ryan. Until then, we are busy with activities!

Reagan just finished an 8 week class introducing her to Ballet/Jazz/ and Tap. For those of you that know her, she was in her element. She loved it! However, since she has to choose between this class or gymnastics, she has chosen gymnastics. She says she just loves the trampoline!

Ryan is just starting soccer. He has been so excited. We bought him some shin guards a week ago. Every morning he gets up, gets dressed, and puts on those shin guards! Everyday! He says "Who's ready for soccer challenge?" He is so cute! Reagan asked me why he seemed so silly about it all. I had to explain that this was the very first sport for him, separate from her. He finally had an activity to go to that was all about him. Not just "Reagan this and Reagan that..." He did a great job at his first practice, with the exception of picking the ball up alot in order to line it up with the goal. Oh well, it takes practice to become a star player, right?
