Some More Pictures of My New Baby Girl

OK, so we are a week out now from the birth and we seem to be doing fine. My recovery from the C-section is going slowly, but I am managing the best I can--especially thanks to the drugs! Reese is doing well---she sleeps most of the time, even throughout the night. We have to wake her up to feed her at 3:00am and 7:30am. She needs to gain weight, so that is why we do such a crazy thing. As soon as she is at her birth weight, we will stop that craziness! I remember with my other three children thinking, "I thought newborns were suppose to sleep all the time. Why aren't mine??" as I would listen to them scream. Well, the LORD finally blessed us with a sleeper--and a very sound one at that. She sleeps through all the chaos of her brother and two sisters running and yelling and wallering her and holding her. We are so thankful for her demeanor so far and we pray that God has answered our prayers about letting our 4th kid be one that is easy going and laid back. Hopefully, you won't hear differently from us any time soon. We have been very blessed this week with friends from church bringing us meals every day. Paul has been off of work all week and has been a SUPER dad & husband as he has taken care of me and my recovery, but he has also taken care of the kids and does all my work around the house. What a wonderful man I married!! Our dear friends James & Amy from Texas are arriving on Saturday to help us out for 2 weeks, so that will be wonderful. The kids continue to adore her and constantly want to hold her and feed her. What a blessed woman I am! Here are some pictures of our sweetie...... Welcome Reese Bailey Cornwell

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the LORD...."---this has been one of my life verses and it definitely applies to when I give birth. His plans are never our plans. Reese Bailey Cornwell decided to join our family three weeks early. Our c-section was scheduled for Wednesday, June 17th, which was still 9 days before her actual due date. We had James & Amy coming to care for our kids on the 13th of June--driving all the way from the Lone Star State and we had a busy week of finishing up doctor's appointments and birthday parties for Reagan & Ryan. It was all good....until Tuesday night. After praying for me and Baby "Rufus", Paul went to sleep. I then spent some time in prayer just trusting in God that He knew what was best for everyone. Not more than 15 minutes later---I felt a large "pop" and my water came gushing out.

I couldn't believe it. I woke Paul up and told him what had happened. When he turned the bedroom light on, we were shocked to see lots of blood. It was everywhere. We quickly called the doctor and made arrangements for our kids. Thankfully I had just spoken that day with my dear friend Julie about a backup plan of childcare, "just in case the baby wanted to come before James & Amy got here." So Julie came and stayed with the kids until they woke up the next morning---by the way, were they ever shocked to see Mrs. Davis and hear that mommy had had her baby. We arrived at the hospital around midnight and Reese Bailey was born at 3:12am on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. She weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. -- our biggest baby yet, even 3 weeks early! She "stands" at 19 1/2 inches and is quite beautiful, as the following pictures will show. As it turned out, the doctors believe that my placenta was tearing and I had lots of blood clots mixed in with my amniotic fluid. We always trust that God is in control and does always have plans to prosper us. It actually turned out to be a very blessed thing that my water broke and that Reese came to join us early. Needless to say, sisters Reagan and Riley, and awesome big brother Ryan are madly in love with her and can't wait to see her and hold her. I believe that is one of the most precious things, watching my children interact with each other and share in their love, which ultimately is an expression of God's love. We will have many more pictures of our little Disney World Souvenir later, but enjoy these for now.....

Reagan Loses A Big Front Tooth!!

Yeah!! Reagan finally lost one of her big front teeth! It has been a slow process for us since her mouth is so tight, so we get very excited when she loses one! This is only her 3rd tooth to fall out -- at the age of 8! Most 6 year olds have surpassed her, but luckily, not her own brother.

Since Mommy is so close to giving birth to the 4th child, we decided to have a small party with a few close friends. Reagan had 4 friends over for a slumber party. We started the celebration off with pizza, presents, then homemade ice cream cake. The girls then went ice skating. After all that fun, they then came back and changed into their PJs and had had popcorn as they watched a movie. They went to sleep around 11:15--not to bad! The next morning began with sweet rolls and some more playtime. We finished off our "party" by heading to the pool and swimming and having a picnic lunch. It was alot of fun and not much work for Mommy. We ended the day at 1:30pm and Mommy went and took a long nap. *smile* Reagan said she had a great time and I was happy to be able to provide a special time for her as she turned 8 years old. She is such a blessing to me as she grows up. She has become such a helper around the house and often shows such a sweet spirit and heart towards her brother and sister. I look forward to seeing her grow even more and watching the Lord work in her life and heart. I decorated the cake with Jibbitz, so the girls could all have a flower one for their Crocs
