Riley Starts Preschool

My third child went off to preschool this week. WOW! She attends school on Tuesday & Thursday mornings. She said she really liked it, and I am so happy about that, especially since I woke her this morning and she started crying and saying, "I don't want to go to school. I hate school. Why can't I just go the playground and then just come home?" I envisioned prying her from her car seat, as she screamed, and handing her off to her teacher. But, praise God, she happily got out of the car, holding her friend Kara's hand (thank God for carpool!)saying, "Bye Mommy, see you later!" What a proud moment........This was her first day, when I went with her for an introductory class, for one hour.

This is a side by side comparision between her and Reagan. yes, they wore the same outfit. It is cute! And, by golly, I will probably put Reese in it in 4 years too, if Riley doesn't mess it up. But look at my two cutie patooties!

A Visit to Conner Prairie

Since we did not have soccer Labor Day weekend, our family made a trip to Conner Prairie, an outdoor living history museum, right here in Fishers, IN. The kids really enjoy going -- from petting the farm animals, touring the historical buildings of the 1800's, helping out around the farm, etc.. They even got to try their hands at axe throwing in the Indian village.

Ryan tries too. They said it would take almost 60 to 70 dips in the wax to make a candle, probably over an hour. What did the pioneers do with all that "free time"???

Reagan tries to do the stilts. Seems like I am the only one in the family that can do it--thanks to my dad. He made us some when we were little. No, we didn't live in the pioneer days, but we DID live in the middle of no where, with not much to do!

Reese Turns 3 Months!

Our little girl is growing fast and changing every day. She has started to smile tons and even gives us some belly laughs, which really gives the kids much laughter too. She still sleeps through the night most of the time, but gave us a week or so where she was very erratic in her sleep patterns. But this morning, I went in and got to start her day at 7:30am, and she woke up happy--our goal! She was all smiles for me in her crib and I loved it! She is currently on an almost 4 hour feeding schedule during the day and she seems to like that much better, often giving me a 1 1/2 hour nap (sometimes even 2 to 2 1/2 hours) after the feedings. She often stays awake and happy for about 1 1/2 hours after the feeding. (Babywise folks-that is the sleep, feed, wake cycle that we all know about and love the predictability of!) She does have her bad days though and seems to enjoy throwing me off my schedule. But we are working on that too! *smile* And, it goes without saying, the kids still love her SO MUCH, with Riley always wanting to kiss her feet.
